This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive paralegal who enjoys working on sophisticated commercial real estate transactions within a collaborative and modern firm environment. The successful candidate will work closely with lawyers supporting a broad range of commercial and residential real estate matters, including acquisitions, financings, developments, and leasing transactions. - Draft, organize, and coordinate transaction and closing documents
- Prepare and manage closing agendas, statements of adjustment, and closing documentation
- Conduct real estate due diligence searches and reporting
- Prepare and register conveyancing and financing documents through LTSA
- Assist with development and subdivision matters, including easements, covenants, and rights of way
- Draft and manage commercial lease documentation
- Coordinate transaction closings, trust deposits, and payouts in compliance with LSBC requirements
- Liaise with clients, lenders, brokers, opposing counsel, and third parties
- Obtain title insurance policies and assist with related documentation
- Support both commercial and residential real estate transactions
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Real Estate Paralegal
- Strong experience with commercial real estate transactions and financings
- Thorough understanding of LTSA registration requirements, BC Online searches, and LOTA requirements
- Experience preparing and filing mortgages and related security documentation
- Proficiency with MyLTSA, BC Online, ALF, DocuSign, Microsoft Office, and related legal software
- Corporate law experience is considered an asset
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Professional, collaborative, and client-service-oriented approach
