Job Purpose: The Commercial Mortgage Funder will facilitate the successful funding of commercial mortgage transactions, acting as the liaison between internal and external partners. They will ensure that loan conditions are met in a timely and accurate manner, in accordance with our Funding Policy, Credit Risk, and Credit Risk Procedures. They will manage transactions from start to finish and proactively identify items of concern for appropriate action throughout the loan lifecycle. Primary Accountabilities: Transaction Management:

• Manage commercial mortgage transactions from initiation to completion.
• Engage third parties to act on behalf of the Lender.
• Ensure all necessary documentation is prepared, reviewed, and approved.
• Familiar with mortgage security and loan agreements in Canada and United States.

Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:

• Ensure all funding conditions and anti-money laundering (AML)/FINTRAC criteria are met.
• Obtain and verify wire instructions/W9 tax forms as applicable.
• Ensure transactions comply with tax lending parameters.
• Verify that all transactions comply with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Liaison and Communication:

• Act as the primary point of contact between internal departments (e.g., credit risk underwriters, asset manager, originators) and external partners (e.g., solicitors, syndication partners).
• Facilitate clear and effective communication to ensure timely transaction closures.
• Identify and escalate potential problems that would prevent deals from closing.

Documentation and Record Keeping:

• Maintain accurate and organized records of all transactions and related documents.
• Ensure all post-closing deliverables are followed up and completed.
• Maintain nCino covenants accordingly.
• Assist with ongoing audit requirements throughout the year with various partners.

Risk Management:

• Identify potential risks or issues in transactions and take proactive steps to mitigate them.
• Work closely with credit risk teams to support underwriting processes and ensure thorough risk assessment.
• Work together with external insurance consultants to identify and escalate risk items for further approval.

Process Improvement:

• Continuously evaluate and improve funding processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Implement best practices and contribute to the development of internal policies and guidelines.
• Optimize existing work flows to identify areas of improvement.

Client Service:

• Provide exceptional service to clients, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
• Foster strong relationships with borrowers, investors, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree or Diploma in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of related work experience in commercial real estate lending, commercial banking, commercial funding, loan administration, or as a paralegal.
• Must obtain a Mortgage Broker License within 12 months of hire.

Salary Range: $73,485 - $105,570, with a midpoint of $87,975 annually, commensurate with skills, experience and qualifications. Working Conditions: Standard office environment
