Kitchen Assistant at The Salvation Army

You will ensure that food preparation areas and dining spaces are clean and hygienic, following proper food handling techniques. Ideal candidates should have a minimum of a high school diploma and experience in an institutional kitchen. Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing and serving meals under cook supervision
• Clean dining room, kitchen, and food prep areas
• Manage inventory and store items according to standards
• Process dishes and maintain utensils through dishwashing
• Handle waste management and bin cleaning tasks

• High school diploma required; cooking certificate preferred
• Less than 2 years of experience in kitchen settings
• Knowledge of basic cooking techniques
• Current Safe Food Handlers certification
• Must wear CSA-approved Safety Shoes
