Job Summary
The Team
The Ministry of Children and Family Development provides services that support healthy, safe environments where children are connected to their families and community. The ministry delivers most of its services locally through contracted agencies as well as through centrally administered provincial programs. Specialized Provincial Services administers the At Home Medical Benefits and Autism Funding and Youth Transitions programs.
The Role
Working within a call centre environment, the Program Support Clerk delivers technical and administrative assistance for the centralized approval and payment of program benefits. They clarify case details with clients and address inquiries from the public and other stakeholders.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (Dogwood, GED or Canadian Adult Education Credential (CAEC)).
- Minimum of 6 months (within the last 3 years) of client/customer service experience.
- Minimum of 6 months (within the last 3 years) experience processing financial transactions (e.g. checking invoices for accuracy, completing routine payment documents, liaising with others to resolve payment issues/problems/concerns)..
- Experience utilizing a variety of computer software programs to create, edit and enter information (i.e. MS Office Suite – Word, Excel, Outlook).
Preference may be given to applicants with one or more of the following:
- Minimum of 6 months of experience (within the last 3 years) in an administrative/clerical role in an office setting.
- Experience using ICM and /or CAS applications.
- Data entry experience.

About this Position
There multiple permanent full-time opportunities in Victoria, and one temporary full-time opportunity in Victoria until March 31, 2027.
These positions have full-time onsite requirements.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
