Business System Support Analyst

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of Island Health (Vancouver Island Health Authority), patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.Reports to the Manager or designate, the Business System Support Analyst performs a variety of duties related to accounts receivable and billing functions using a variety of computerized software and systems. The Business System Support Analyst also develops and maintains computer applications as a component piece of the integrated clinical system and electronic health record (EHR); provides technical support to Heart Health user departments and assists with technical orientation; and identifies system problems, corresponds with Cerner and implements recommended solutions.QUALIFICATIONS Education, Training And ExperienceGraduation from a recognized degree or diploma program in Computer Science, two years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Skills And Abilities Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to deal with others effectively. Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position. Ability to organize work. Ability to operate related equipment.
