DIETARY AIDE (Part-Time), Casual - EXTENDICARE

Dietary Aide At Extendicare, we believe that working as a team and celebrating achievements creates an environment that allows us to reach our potential. As a valued member of our culinary team you will assist with plating and serving of meals. and will be responsible for cleaning serving areas, as well as equipment. While following established policies, procedures and standards. Available opportunities include Part-Time/Days/Evenings/Weekends

Serves food to residents according to individual diets and preferences. Observes time limits for meal serving. Maintains foods at proper serving temperature.

Assists Cooks to clean and prepare such uncooked food as salads, vegetables, and fruits. Follow basic instructions in preparing such simple foods as breakfast items, basic desserts, and garnishes.

Participates in proper storage and labeling of dietary supplies and food, including leftovers.

Adheres to established departmental policies, procedures regarding quality assurance, fire, safety, environment, and infection control.

Stocks unit kitchenettes.

Participates in facility meetings as assigned. Or must be a student with the understanding that once no longer a student you will not be able to continue employment unless you enroll in the above mentioned course and complete with in 3 years of hire.

Current Food Handler`s Certificate

Previous dietary experience preferred in LTC (Long Term Care) Home 0-1 year(s).

Ability to read and write English as well as to understand simple verbal and written instructions in English.

Successful candidates must be available to work - days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays.
