The Opportunity
CFO Group Inc. Iis currently seeking a results driven Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of financial management, proficient and excellent problem-solving skills. As a Fractional Senior Accountant you will work closely with the Controller, or CFO Group Inc. support team, external clients, and stakeholders to provide financial guidance and support adhering to accounting standards. The ideal candidate will reside in the Edmonton area and be willing to commute for on-site collaboration and client sessions.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee and held responsible - Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Conduct account reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial data - Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
Review and approve journal entries and general ledger transactions.
Perform variance analysis to identify trends and potential issues.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
Correspond with external clients, partner firms and stakeholders in a professional manner.
Assist in the implementation of accounting systems and processes.
Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff.
Travel May be required for on-site client visits
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance - CPA certification preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Accountant, preferably in a senior role
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, etc.
Strong knowledge of financial services industry regulations and best practices
Experience with accounts payable, payroll, and account analysis
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and resolve issues
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in financial reporting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Strong Excel Skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision and self-starter.
Ability to prioritize tasks and excellent time management skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $50,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
