Laboratory Technician
CellCarta, a Contract Research Organization, is hiring a Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic team. As a Laboratory Technician, you will have the opportunity to use your expertise and skills to ensure that our services meet the highest industry standards. Reporting to the Group Leader, the Laboratory Technician is responsible for preparing and pre-processing fresh samples, as well as supporting experiment preparation by managing solutions, consumables, and labels. The role also involves preparing solutions and contributing to the maintenance and upkeep of equipment, as well as receiving reagents and materials and handling inventory management.
Perform sample preparation such as cell isolation from blood samples, cryopreservation, thawing, and counting;
Replenish stock materials and perform inventory;
DEC in Laboratory Technology, preferably with a biotechnology specialization.

1 year experience in a laboratory, an asset;

• Experience with PBMC (isolation by Ficoll or CPT, cryopreservation, thawing, counting with hemocytometer), an asset;
• Experience in a GLP/GCLP environment, an asset;
• Rotating schedule of evening and weekend shifts: Monday to Friday from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and Saturday & Sunday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Note: A shift premium is applied;
• Must accept to perform activities in a Biosafety Level (BSL) 1 or 2 laboratory where biological samples may be either naturally or experimentally infected with potentially hazardous viruses such as HIV, HCV, or CMV.
