Analytical Laboratory technician

Main Functions

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated person to participate in the activities of the analysis laboratory in our MONTREAL lab.

The responsibilities of the technician will mainly be:

• Basic microbiological analyzes on different yeast samples (contaminants, viability);
• Analyzes of the fermentation activity of baker's yeasts (dough rise test, CO2 release, sugar consumption);
• Preparation of culture media and equipment necessary for the analyses;
• Help in training new students;
• Yeast biochemical analyzes - protein and phosphates content;
• Launch HPLC analyzes (trehalose, GSH, nucleotides, ethanol, etc.);
• Extraction and digestion for the analysis.

Technical skills

Required

• BAC in science (microbiology, biochemistry, chemistry or related studies)
• French

An asset

• DEC in laboratory technology or related field could be considered with experience
• Experience in microbiology (plating)
• Experience in chemistry (hplc, kjeldahl analyzer / GC)
• English
