Accountant Corporate Accounting

Job Responsibility:

As a Corporate Accountant your role is to assists in producing monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for Irving Oil. You will be responsible for Employee Services and Treasury Accounting. What We Offer:

Your Responsibilities:

Prepare complex monthly journal entries and reconciliations, performing investigation of outstanding and reconciling items

Review monthly recurring journal entries and reconciliations prepared by junior team members

Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including quarterly financial statement notes and annual pension plan financial statements

Lead the tax provision support process for Employee Services Accounting

Review of audit working papers for external annual audits, including leading the pension plan audit

Work closely with Treasury, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Employee Services, HR and other groups

Assist with ad-hoc financial analyses

Assist junior team members with their development

Professional Skills:

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines

Strong continuous improvement mindset

Strong analytical thinking skills with excellent attention to detail

Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Strong knowledge of MS office applications, particularly Excel

Experience processing and recording complex financial transactions

Familiarity with IFRS would be considered an asset

Your Experience:

• Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting.
• Professional designation CPA or enrolled in the CPA program is preferred
• 3+ years of experience in accounting
