Administrative Assistant I - Full-Time (Temporary)

Are you a detail-oriented administrative professional looking for a fast-paced, engaging role? Our client, a leading logistics provider, is seeking an Operations Administrator to support their Pickering Service Centre. In this role, you will be the backbone of the local operations team, ensuring seamless document processing, excellent customer service, and efficient driver check-ins. Term: Full-Time Temporary Contract for upto 6 months
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM EST
Competitive Pay: Steady daytime hours at a competitive rate of $24.04/hour.
- Fully onsite role based in Pickering with a stable, predictable Monday-to-Friday schedule.
Customer Support: Provide excellent customer service and problem resolution in accordance with company policies.
- Customs & Compliance: Verify and process Customs documents. Data Entry & Auditing: Handle high-accuracy data entry (including freight bill entry). Audit Bills of Lading (BOLs) and delivery receipts for regulatory compliance.
- Driver & Contractor Coordination: Review Contractor Settlement Sheets and bill accessorial service charges back to customers.
- Coordinate and schedule pick-ups and delivery appointments via phone, email, and customer portals.
- Assist with mentoring new Operations Associates and support the broader operations team with ad-hoc administrative tasks.
Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of experience in administration, customer service, or a related office field.
- Experience in the transportation or Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) industry is a strong asset.
- Tech Savvy: Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook). Willingness to learn proprietary logistics software.
