Data Scientist (Full-time Remote)

Full-time : 37.5 Hours per week, Monday to Friday

Location: Ottawa Office (Up to 3 days per week), 70 Laurier Ave West, Suite 310, Ottawa, ON K1P 5V5 and Ottawa-based Home Office, or, remote if located outside of the National Capital Region.

We are in search of self-motivated individuals to join the Larus Labs team as Data Scientists, where we develop end-to-end real-time solutions for the enterprise market. We perform leading-edge research in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Data Analytics. This is an opportunity to work on various data science problems, while communicating directly with enterprise clients to gather requirements, define problems, and develop applied solutions.

Design and implement scalable, distributed AI/ML-based systems;

Design, development, integration, and testing of AI/ML models;

Advocate high-quality and best practices in software design and development;

Perform data analysis, visualization, and modelling with large datasets;

Independently interacting clients, explaining technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders;

Perform data acquisition, cleaning, and transformation;

• 2+ years of direct experience in the design, development, deployment, and verification of AI/ML models in production pipelines;
• Strong object-oriented programming in Python;
• Required to meet qualifications to obtain a Canadian Government security clearance (typically requires the candidate to be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada).

Technical Skill Requirements, working knowledge of:

Python;

Machine Learning and Data Mining;

AI/ML Packages (e.g. Python data analysis and manipulation tools (e.g. pandas, numpy, dask);

Source control-based system (e.g. Trend analysis and predictive modeling; Data collection, analysis and reporting.

Preferred Technical Skills:

Software Unit Testing (e.g., Python Unittest);

Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment Systems (e.g., Azure Devops);

Data Visualization (e.g., linear algebra, statistics, mathematical programming).

Ability to work with client stakeholders across all levels of an organization, from individual contributors to senior executives;

Strong active-listening skills and the ability to translate business needs into data science solutions;
