Installation and Commissioning Technician

We are seeking four (4) experienced Electromechanical Technicians for a contract assignment supporting next-generation diesel locomotives and passenger coaches. Working as part of an on-site technical team.

This role supports production work that spans mechanical, electrical, and software‑related tasks within a complex rail‑industry environment. The work varies day‑to‑day and requires someone who is highly skilled, adaptable, and able to contribute immediately with minimal training.

This is a contract position with a strong possibility of extension or a permanent position based on your performance and business needs.

Commissioning Technician

Role Type: Contract

Location: On-site Technical Facility

Compensation: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour (Based on experience)

Competitive pay rate of up to $35 per hour.

• Consistent daytime shift: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic system failures.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and circuit

Use laptops and subsystem software to analyze and correct system issues.

• Implement Field Modifications (FMIs) and record all work performed.
• Communicate technical details and recommendations to the site lead and team.
• Perform assembly installations work on locomotives and coaches

Strong electrical troubleshooting capability.

• Ability to read, understand, and apply electrical schematics without training.
• Mechanical and electrical hands-on experience using a wide range of tools (wrenches, multimeters, specialty tools, etc.).
• Versatility and willingness to take on varying tasks depending on project needs.
• Software/system logic background is a plus.
• Rail industry experience is an asset, but not required.
