Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced First Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong background in the food industry, with expertise in meal preparation and food safety. As a Senior Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our kitchen operates efficiently while delivering high-quality dishes that exceed our guests' expectations.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and standards.
Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring all food preparation meets safety and sanitation guidelines.
Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, providing guidance on cooking techniques and food handling practices.
Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed to maintain stock.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to health regulations.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and guest satisfaction.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a cook in a restaurant or similar food service environment.
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, meal planning, and kitchen operations.
Familiarity with food safety standards and best practices in food handling.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
A passion for cooking and creativity in developing new dishes is highly desirable.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
