As a Machine Operator in this food manufacturing setting, you will play a crucial role in driving daily production goals while maintaining high quality standards. In the fast-paced manufacturing & logistics sector, food processing machine operators set up, calibrate, operate, and tend automated processing and packaging machinery. You will oversee mixing vats, conveyors, fillers, and sealing equipment, ensuring all food products are manufactured in strict compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP regulations. You will continuously monitor line speeds, temperatures, and package weights to ensure complete quality assurance.

Operating within manufacturing & logistics facilities requires operators to identify minor mechanical issues, clear equipment jams, and perform adjustments before downtime occurs. In addition, you will participate in line changeovers, machine teardowns, and sanitary washdowns between product runs to maintain strict hygiene protocols.
For this role located in Brantford, Ontario, clear English communication skills are required. Machine operators must read and understand English standard operating procedures (SOPs), recipe sheets, technical manuals, and safety signage. Additionally, strong spoken English skills allow for seamless collaboration with team members, maintenance technicians, and shift supervisors.

Set up, calibrate, and operate automated food manufacturing machine equipment according to daily production schedules.

• Monitor continuous food processing, filling, and packaging lines to ensure consistent product flow and quality.
• Conduct routine quality control checks, verifying product weights, seal integrity, and processing temperatures.
• Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues, clear jams, and perform adjustments to minimize equipment downtime.
• Accurately record production data, including batch logs, waste reports, and quality inspection results.
• Feed raw food ingredients and packaging materials into machinery hoppers and loading mechanisms.
• Follow facility health and safety standards, wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Report major equipment malfunctions or quality deviations immediately to shift leads and maintenance staff.
• Work collaboratively with manufacturing & logistics team members to meet daily output targets.

Minimum 1 year of prior experience operating machinery in a food manufacturing or industrial facility.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent qualification.
• Ability to work full-time hours on Day (7:00 AM – 4:30 PM) or Afternoon (5:00 PM – 1:30 AM) shifts in Brantford, Ontario.
• Working knowledge of food safety regulations, GMP guidelines, and workplace safety procedures.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, and bend throughout scheduled shifts.
• Fluency in English (written and verbal) to read SOPs, follow safety signs, and communicate with plant supervisors.
• Mechanical aptitude and experience operating industrial food manufacturing machine tools and packaging equipment.
• Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP guidelines, and food safety sanitation procedures.
• Attention to detail for conducting quality checks, monitoring equipment gauges, and inspecting packaging integrity.
