Service Advisor / Service Representative

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Service Officer III to join our Wealth National Office in downtown Toronto. This role is primarily focused on the end-to-end management of Corporate Action notifications, requiring a professional who can analyze complex financial circulars and translate them into clear, actionable data for our clients.
This is a 6-month contract designed to provide high-volume operational support during a peak period. Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM.
As a Service Officer III, you will be responsible for the daily monitoring and critical analysis of corporate action notifications from global vendors (DTC, CDS, Bloomberg, etc.). You will identify system share positions, validate second-source information, and determine event eligibility for Canadian resident shareholders. This is a 100% back-office role that demands high accuracy under tight market deadlines to mitigate financial and regulatory risk to the firm.

Specialized Expertise: Gain deep technical knowledge in the processing of global corporate events (mergers, acquisitions, dividends, etc.).
Prime Location: Work from a central corporate hub in the heart of Toronto’s financial district.
Notification & Analysis
Market Monitoring: Review daily corporate action circulars and notifications from various depositories and vendors (DTC, CDS, TSE, Bloomberg).
Critical Analysis: Perform thorough breakdowns of complex circulars to identify conditions, restrictions, and tax treatments.
Risk Identification: Spot potential foreign currency exchange risks and complex tax implications, escalating to the tax department as necessary.
Summarize technical data into condensed, easy-to-understand notifications for clients and Investment Advisors.
Data Management: Create corporate action files, maintain online logbooks, and ensure reconciliation systems carry current statuses.
Stakeholder Liaison: Communicate effectively with transfer agents and issuing companies to obtain and confirm offering materials.
Translation Support: Identify events for French preference holders and initiate translation requests.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with the team and summarize technical financial data.
Education: High School Diploma with relevant experience is required; A self-motivated individual capable of prioritizing competing tasks through tight market deadlines with minimal supervision.
Corporate Actions Expertise: Previous experience specifically managing corporate action events is a strong asset.
