Job Responsibility:
The Kamloops Thompson Teachers' Association (KTTA) serves approximately 1200 teachers in the Kamloops-Thompson school district. The Association is seeking a casual office assistant who has strong interpersonalskills and the ability to multi-task. This position requires resourcefulness, problem-solving skills,organization, flexibility with scheduling and the ability to manage workload in a timely manner.
Responsibilities and Duties Include
- Answer incoming calls and other receptionist duties, including voicemail, fax, email and mail
- Generate memos and emails
- Direct questions and requests for information to appropriate staff
- Preparation of meeting agendas and minutes, including notice to members
- Maintain contact lists and information
- Update membership database as necessary
- Operate computer internet system
- Channel phone and email messages to the appropriate personnel
- Webpage Maintenance
- Establishes and maintains databases and performs data entry
- Assists members with forms and applications
- Confirms enrolment in workshops
- Designs and supervises production and distribution of event booklets
- Other duties as assigned consistent with experience and qualifications
- Work with other staff to ensure smooth running of office
Qualifications and Skills
- Proficiency in MS Office with expertise in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe, Canva and Word Press
- Detail oriented and comfortable working in an office environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Superior organizational skills and dedication to completing projects in a timely manner
- Previous office experience an asset
Salary and Benefits
- Wages and benefits as per the LEG-LEU Collective agreement at Category A
- This is a casual position starting in September 2024
