Electro Mechanical Technician-Immediate start!!

We are looking for an Electromechanical Technician to join an on-site technical team supporting next-generation diesel locomotives and passenger coaches. This is a high-impact role for someone who is as comfortable turning a wrench as they are navigating complex electrical schematics. This is a re-newable contract role, located in Etobicoke and offers the ability to work on challenging projects with a fantastic team!

As an Electromechanical Technician, you will be responsible for the assembly, installation, and troubleshooting of various locomotive and coach subsystems.

Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic system failures using multimeters, specialty tools, and subsystem software.

Technical Interpretation: Read and navigate complex mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and circuit diagrams with high proficiency.

Hands-on Production: Perform mechanical installations, part removals, and general assembly work on locomotives and coaches.

Field Modifications: Implement Field Modifications (FMIs) and meticulously record all technical work performed.

Utilize knowledge of software logic and system-to-system communication (IPs) to analyze and correct issues.

Collaboration: Communicate technical recommendations to the site lead and maintain a safe, professional work environment using standard industry procedures.

We are seeking "all-arounders"—technicians who are willing to jump into any task, from heavy mechanical labor to intricate electrical diagnostics.

Education: Post-secondary diploma in an electrical, mechanical, or industrial discipline.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant technical experience (Rail, Field Service, or heavy industrial experience is a strong asset).

Technical Mastery: Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair using electrical and pneumatic circuit diagrams without additional training.

Tools: Proficient with a wide range of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic software.

A strong problem-solver with a "team-first" attitude—willing to handle any task required to meet project milestones.
