Accounting Technician - Construction Industry

Academic background in accounting and bookkeeping, or a related field
Strong working knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, and accounting systems
Proficient in Microsoft Office (esp. Word, Excel)
Experience in real estate development and construction accounting required
experience with other tax preparation and accounting software
Respond to email for general billing inquires
Use QB or other computer software to manage reports and track financial data
Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable
Manage and track project budgets
Verify or reconcile bank transactions and issue cheques
Compile data for tax returns
Prepare or create project proformas
Prepare and coordinate lending and legal reports
Assist project managers and oversee administrative operations relate to project budgeting, contract payment processes
Assemble data and prepare periodic progress reports, manuals and correspondences
Keep company filing and legal status organized to meet deadlines for external accountants, internal audits and legal consuls
