CAPP is recruiting for a Manager, Atlantic Canada Regulatory based in St. The Manager, Atlantic Canada Regulatory is responsible for leading the development and implementation of advocacy strategies to advance policy and regulatory priorities in Atlantic Canada on behalf of the oil and gas industry. This is a strategic, non-partisan role that builds strong relationships within both the public sector and corporate settings to implement effective advocacy strategies. This role is a key member of the Regulatory and Operations team, reporting to the Director, Atlantic and Northern Canada.
Lead the development of positions and deliver advocacy strategies to advance industry interests on environment, safety and regulatory issues in Atlantic Canada.
Develop and maintain strategic and constructive relationships with senior leaders within industry, government, and regulatory bodies, serving as a key representative for CAPP’s interests on external boards and committees. Implement strategies set by the executive team, translating high-level objectives into actionable tasks for the team, and ensuring effective project and day-to-day execution.
Develop and execute multi-level government engagement strategies, ensuring appropriate timing and content for communication with stakeholders, including CAPP committees, members, and government entities.
Leverage data and synthesize member perspectives through the Association’s committee structure, formulating sound positions and solutions for government and regulator engagement.
Assess and prioritize initiatives, ensuring timely delivery of advocacy strategies and stakeholder engagement plans.
Develop clear, concise written and verbal briefings and submissions for audiences of all levels, from C-suite executives to technical subject matter experts.
Manage project-specific and day-to-day activities to ensure the team successfully executes on deliverables.
Monitor and assess team performance, provide guidance and direction, and provide updates on progress and financial impacts.
Demonstrate CAPP’s Guiding Principles of High Performance, Collaboration, and Integrity to ensure that organizational practices consistently reflect our culture.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, preferably in the offshore or a closely related sector, with demonstrated expertise in regulatory affairs, public policy, government relations, or industry advocacy.
preferably a diploma or degree in engineering, environmental science, political science, business administration or a related field.
Strong knowledge of government legislation, policies, and regulatory regimes related to the offshore sector of the oil and gas industry.
A self-starter who takes initiative and delivers with minimal supervision and has excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
Strong analytical and strategic technical skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Strong project management, written and oral communications, facilitation, and relationship management skills.
Ability to develop innovative and creative solutions and to consider the broader impact of alternatives.
