Job Title: Project Finance Manager
Location: St. John's, NL
Position Type: 1 full-time position
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Project Finance Manager is responsible for supporting and providing financial and budget support contributing to the success of a range of programs and projects undertaken on behalf of the Association
Role and Responsibilities
- Reviewing, monitoring, and managing budgets
- Assist in the preparation of detailed monthly and quarterly financial reports
- Participate in strategic data analysis, research, and modeling for senior leadership
- Support project analysis, validation of plans, and ad-hoc requests
- Manage projects financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements
- Provide payroll support along with tax remittances and, review and deposit submissions
- Assist the Director of Finance in the completion of the year-end audit process. Preparing supporting documents and materials for external auditors
- Evaluating, developing, and improving department controls, systems, and procedures increase accuracy and efficiency
- Assist in the establishing and maintaining financial policies and procedures
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or BA with an emphasis in finance or accounting
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in an accounting position
- Advanced Knowledge of Finance and Project Management
- Accounting designation or enrollment in a program is an asset
- Excellent computer skills; strong skills in Sage 300 and Microsoft Office
- Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and provincial/federal regulations
- Experience in the non-profit sector would be an asset
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
Conditions of Employment
- Flexibility to work outside of standard core hours (Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm)
- Satisfactory Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check from the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary
