As a SafeRoads Adjudicator you will independently review administrative penalties assess evidence and issue well-reasoned decisions to promote road safety and justice. This role combines critical thinking communication and legal expertise in a fast-paced high-impact environment.
Conducting teleconference and video hearings with professionalism and impartiality.
Drafting well-structured legally sound written decisions.
Staying informed on relevant legislation case law and regulatory changes.
Collaborating with peers to maintain consistency and quality in decision-making.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex legal and procedural matters.
Report writing and recording skills.

Public Administration Public Policy Law Business Administration Criminal Justice or related discipline) supplemented by at least four (4) progressive experience in the following areas:
decision writing
interpreting and applying legislation and policy in complex situations
writing briefings that include setting out options and making recommendations
Interpretation and understanding of legislation including the Traffic Safety Act and its regulations the Provincial Administrative Penalties Act (PAPA) and its regulations and the Criminal Code (Canada).
Working knowledge in information management systems and Office 365.
As the successful candidate you will be required to successfully complete the SafeRoads Adjudicator Training. Your employment is conditional upon the satisfactory performance of your duties and successful completion of this training. Successful completion of this training is required for delegation for vehicle seizure reviews late applications and designation for Immediate Roadside Sanction Adjudication.

Assets and Preferences:
Experience writing formal adjudication decisions.
Knowledge about tribunals and the administrative law process.
Working experience analyzing evidence or research and providing recommended options.
We have two permanent full-time positions available working 36.25 hours per week Monday to Friday (8:15 am - 4:30 pm).
