Solutions architect - information technology (IT)

Undertakes the design of hosting technology solutions based on the client’s service specifications, standards, policies, best practices and cost models, in order to meet client application business requirement and project\/initiative deliverables. \\ \

Knowledge of integrated networking technologies, mainframe, midrange server, enterprise storage and SAN, and personal computer system technologies \\
Knowledge of related best practices, OPS directory\/messaging standards, standard facilities infrastructure\/architecture management, facility service delivery processes, infrastructures policies, procedures and direction, cost models and procurement processes, \\
corporate I&IT information mandates, client information technology strategic plans, environment and standards \\
Ability to participate in the development of solutions and provide advice on short\/long term solution service development activities. \\
Knowledge of leading edge technologies design criteria, security and recovery procedures, preparation of technical specifications for installation, testing and performance of integrated, multi\-services systems; assess performance and capacity of existing system making recommendations for improving performance and develop technical documentation. \\
Experience planning, migrating, implementing and sustaining large complex system development projects \\
Knowledge of technology developments, trends and new products to evaluated application to client short and long term technology requirements. \\
Basic knowledge of project management methodology (e.g. Conceptual and analytical skills to assess and evaluate client needs and c o n d u c t cost\/benefit analyses for new technology requirements in planning and designing solutions. \\
Experience with systems evaluation to assess conditions, technical performance and capacity of existing systems and determine need and feasibility of expansion, renovation or replacement. \\
Proven experience designing scalable, secure, and maintainable enterprise solutions using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture. \\\
Expertise in defining solution architecture, integration patterns, and deployment strategies across complex systems. \\\
Leads design walkthroughs, provides technical direction, and ensures alignment with business and technical requirements. \\\
Responsible for updating and maintaining solution architecture documents, including integration diagrams, data flow models, and deployment guides. \\\ \
Integration expertise with IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW). \\\
Expert\-level experience with OpenText CMS APIs, including metadata management, content lifecycle integration, and compliance. \\\
Experience with JEE application servers such as IBM WebSphere and Liberty 8.x. \\\
Skilled in SOA\-based architecture and middleware\/gateway integration. \\\ \
Cloud & DevOps

Strong understanding of DevOps practices: CI\/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), infrastructure automation, and environment management. \\\ \
Data & Migration Strategy
\

Deep expertise in data migration planning and execution, including: \\

Designing and managing staging tables for transformation and validation. \\\
Writing complex PL\/SQL scripts for data extraction, cleansing, and loading. \\\
Ensuring data integrity, rollback strategies, and audit compliance. \\\
Experience with relational and hierarchica \\ l database design, optimization, and integration with enterprise applications. \\\ \
Public Sector Experience

Demonstrated experience designing solutions for permitting platforms within the Ontario Public Service (OPS) or similar public sector modernization initiatives. \\\
Understanding of public sector integration, security, and compliance requirements. \\\ \

Experienced in Agile\/Scrum environments, contributing to sprint planning, backlog grooming, and technical reviews. \\\
