RQ10672 - Solutions Designer - Intermediate

Responsibilities:

• Undertakes the design of hosting technology solutions based on the client’s service specifications, standards, policies, best practices and cost models, in order to meet client application business requirement and project\/initiative deliverables.

  • Deep understanding of <\/span> HL7 FHIR <\/span> semantics, constraints, and best practices for resource relationships, cardinality, identifiers, and coding

  • Ability to design and govern <\/span> FHIR <\/span> standards, profiles, extensions, value sets
    <\/span><\/li>
    
    
  • Demonstrated experience defining and applying <\/span> FHIR <\/span> metadata, tags, or classifications to support security, privacy, and access control decisions across multiple downstream consumers.
    <\/span><\/li>
    
    
  • Working knowledge of <\/span> FHIR <\/span> server platforms and implementations — including Azure Health Data Services and similar providers — with an understanding of capabilities and limitations related to search, filtering, pagination, and interoperability.

    • Ability to interpret business requirements and design appropriate FHIR resources, profiles, value sets, and extensions.

    • Strong capability in FHIR\-based information modeling and semantic alignment across domains.
      <\/span><\/li>
      
      
    • Deep understanding of FHIR semantics, constraints, identifiers, coding systems, and resource relationships.
      <\/span><\/li>
      
      
    • Ability to act as a FHIR design authority, documenting modeling decisions and standards for reuse.
      <\/span><\/li>
      
      
    • Experience supporting end‑to‑end FHIR data flows, troubleshooting and optimizing transformations.
      <\/span><\/li>
      
      
    • Ability to define and manage FHIR metadata and tagging strategies for security and access control.
      <\/span><\/li>
      
      
    • Experience with managing FHIR profile and using  Simplifier.net <\/a> for implementation guide and profile management
      <\/span><\/li>
      
      
    • Experience with extension versioning to ensure compatibility across consumer systems.
      <\/span><\/li>
      
      
    • Ability to produce high‑quality FHIR modeling and mapping documentation for both technical and business audiences.
      <\/span><\/li>
      
      
    • Working knowledge of FHIR server platforms and implementations — including Azure Health Data Services and similar providers — with an understanding of capabilities and limitations related to search, filtering, pagination, and interoperability.
      <\/span><\/li>
      
      
    • Ability to validate and align solution designs with AHDS capabilities and engage in technical discussions with Microsoft.
      <\/span><\/li>
      
      
    • Experience performing data mapping from source systems—including HL7v2, and proprietary schemas—into FHIR R4 models.
      <\/span><\/li>
      
      
    • Ability to design scalable, reusable, cross‑domain information models aligned to enterprise architecture frameworks.

      Development & Integration Skills (30%)
      <\/p>
      
      

      
      
      • Hands‑on development experience with FHIR, bundles, search parameters, and transactions.
        <\/span><\/li>
        
        
      • Experience building ETL pipelines and proprietary schemas into FHIR using scripting\/TypeScript.
        <\/span><\/li>
        
        
      • Proficiency with development frameworks and languages: TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, Spring Boot, Angular, Django, Bootstrap.
        <\/span><\/li>
        
        
      • Experience developing or maintaining FHIR tooling\/libraries (e.g., FHIR.ts).
        <\/span><\/li>
        
        
      • Experience with SMART on FHIR, OAuth\/OIDC, and security architecture patterns.
        <\/span><\/li>
        
        
      • Strong understanding of RESTful API design, versioning, error handling, and gateway patterns.
        <\/span><\/li>
        
        
      • Experience with integration and messaging platforms (Kafka, ActiveMQ).
        <\/span><\/li>
        
        
      • DevOps experience with CI\/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Bitbucket) and containerization (Docker).
        <\/span><\/li>
        
        
      • Familiarity with cloud‑based services such as identity solutions like Microsoft Intra ID.
        <\/span><\/li>
        
        
      • Experience implementing authorization interceptors (HAPI FHIR, Spring Boot) to enforce access rules.
