Digital Press Operator, PPPG Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Digital Press Operator, PPPG to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure required resources are available in order to complete job (media, etc);
- Available to work flexible hours including afternoon or midnight shifts during peak seasonal periods, and/or overtime;
- Work with batching system to print and prioritize jobs by due date;
- Monitor and report environmental changes that may impact equipment performance (humidity and temperature);
- Respond appropriately to fault, error, and alert messages;
- Assist with other duties and tasks as required within the 3PG team;
- Calibrate stocks required for daily workload;
- Perform Xerox iGen cleaning, replenishing of consumables, and replacing of filters & bottles and waste containers;
- Contact and interface with the Xerox® iGen Customer Support Center as necessary;
- Ensure proper paper handling, conditioning, loading and able to lift 50lbs;
- Make appropriate and productive order release decisions at the workstation;
- Make image quality and productivity recommendations to iGen workflow;
- Evaluate output and make adjustments to obtain a desired level of image quality;
- Perform basic maintenance of equipment.
Requirements:
- Strong computer skills;
- Knowledge of substrates and their limitations/characteristics;
- Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills;
- Energetic and able to stand for long periods of time;
- Knowledge of color calibration process and instruments;
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy;
- Quick to learn new technology;
- Previous experience operating, maintaining and troubleshooting digital press equipment;
- Flexible and able to adapt to changes required in a fast paced environment;
- 2-3 years experience in press operation / printing / print finishing;
- Knowledge of basic color theory;
- Able to work efficiently in a team environment with strong communication and problem solving skills.
