Licensed Automotive Technician Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Licensed Automotive Technician to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Supervises work of any apprentice technicians as assigned;
- Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts;
- Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician;
- Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended;
- Must maintain monthly, quarterly & yearly brand certification;
- Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order;
- Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair;
- Keep shop area neat and clean;
- Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events;
- Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer;
- Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins;
- Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs;
- Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards;
- Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications;
- Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are well-informed of any additional services needed.
Requirements:
- Minimum high school diploma & licence technician certificate required;
- Positive, friendly attitude, along with a customer service mentality;
- A-level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair;
- Broad knowledge of new vehicle technologies;
- Ability to collaborate effectively;
- Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment;
- Enjoy working in a dynamic environment;
- Excellent customer service skills;
- Ambitious, hardworking presence in a team environment;
- Basic computer skills;
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
