Security Operations, Team Lead Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Security Operations, Team Lead to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design of security-related processes to cover both compliance requirements and to decrease risk;
- Coordinate daily team deliverables to ensure alignment with department commitments;
- Develop project status reports;
- Develop end-to-end understanding of Geotab’s security programs and data infrastructure;
- Work on security-related projects to ensure they are implemented correctly, from a detail management standpoint;
- Work with the manager to address performance issues as required, and participate in regular performance management meetings and reviews;
- Collaborate with internal departments to improve on security-related risks;
- Participate in management training courses;
- Oversee direct reports from the Security Operations team, to address all development, technology and operational requirements;
- Assist with hiring processes and new team member training;
- Answer team member questions, help with team member problems, and oversee team member work for quality and guideline compliance;
- Provide encouragement to team members, including communicating team goals and identify areas for new training or skill checks;
- Regularly report on project status, improvements, and future possibilities.
Requirements:
- Good working knowledge of current IT risks and experience implementing security solutions;
- 3+ years of leadership and project management skills;
- Solid understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorization and security;
- 2+ years of experience in information security and/or IT risk management with a focus on security, performance and reliability;
- Experience with multi-factor authentication, single sign-on, identity management or related technologies;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as business acumen and a commercial outlook;
- Post Secondary Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field;
- Ability to interact with a broad cross-section of personnel to explain and enforce security measures;
- Security+, CISSP, and ITIL are strongly preferred certifications.
