Our company is looking for a Safety and Training Manager to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Resides as the expert in Provincial occupational health & safety legislation, overseeing local Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) matters;
  • Ensures all MVT employees are current with general safety programs and practices;
  • Develops and communicates safety policies, standard operating procedures and manuals as needed;
  • Communicates positive safety communication messages through a variety of media (posters, safety blitz etc);
  • Administers pre-employment programs;
  • Prepares and implements safety and training budget;
  • Represents Company in grievance procedure with safety and training related issues;
  • Oversees corporate safety incentives and programs are managed effectively and consistently;
  • Creates testing and evaluation processes, conduct assessments and formal evaluations of staff;
  • Leads and directs the behavioral-based safety and training processes;
  • Other duties as assigned;
  • Ensure that all safety and training manuals, programs, policies and procedures are current and meet the needs of the operating division;
  • Sets the tone for ensuring all operators are current with training requirements of the company and client contract;
  • Ensures workplace conduct timely, monthly safety meetings including recording of minutes and employee attendance;
  • Leads and attends all joint occupational health and safety committee meetings.
