Safety and Training Manager Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Safety and Training Manager to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Resides as the expert in Provincial occupational health & safety legislation, overseeing local Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) matters;
- Ensures all MVT employees are current with general safety programs and practices;
- Develops and communicates safety policies, standard operating procedures and manuals as needed;
- Communicates positive safety communication messages through a variety of media (posters, safety blitz etc);
- Administers pre-employment programs;
- Prepares and implements safety and training budget;
- Represents Company in grievance procedure with safety and training related issues;
- Oversees corporate safety incentives and programs are managed effectively and consistently;
- Creates testing and evaluation processes, conduct assessments and formal evaluations of staff;
- Leads and directs the behavioral-based safety and training processes;
- Other duties as assigned;
- Ensure that all safety and training manuals, programs, policies and procedures are current and meet the needs of the operating division;
- Sets the tone for ensuring all operators are current with training requirements of the company and client contract;
- Ensures workplace conduct timely, monthly safety meetings including recording of minutes and employee attendance;
- Leads and attends all joint occupational health and safety committee meetings.
