Our company is looking for a Lab Pack Technician to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of waste management legislation and transportation of dangerous goods legislation;
  • Assist with in-plant responsibilities including lap packs and bulking chemicals;
  • Comply with all safe work practices, policies, and processes;
  • Load, secure and transport hazardous and non-hazardous materials;
  • Ensure hazardous waste inventory is correct and that containers are shippable in accordance with legislative requirements;
  • Perform other duties as required;
  • Operate a hand-tuck fork truck or other equipment as required;
  • Perform pre-trip inspections of vehicle and vehicle inspections;
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by understanding customer’s hazardous waste disposal requirements;
  • Accurately complete hazardous waste manifest, bills of lading and associated paperwork;
  • Identify, segregate, classify, consolidate, package, label hazardous and non-hazardous materials for transport.

Requirements:

  • Able to travel overnight on occasion;
  • Class D license preferred;
  • Minimum one year experience in hazardous waste industry;
  • Post-secondary education in chemical technology or engineering;
  • Clean abstract;
  • Must pass criminal records check;
  • Able to lift fifty (50) pounds.
