Jr. R&D Chemist Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Jr. R&D Chemist to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Execute special projects as assigned;
- Conduct all required performance and tests, interprets, records and reports results;
- Complete product development projects under the supervision of Director of R&D or assigned team leader;
- Capability of comprehending and preparing formulations for submissions;
- Work directly with Compounding and Production team to ensure products manufactured meet standard;
- Perform other duties as assigned;
- Document all activities in a log book for internal record and external audit purposes;
- Interface with Production, Compounding, QA, Purchasing and Sales & Marketing as required;
- Assist senior lab personnel as necessary;
- Ability to implement what they learn into developing new or improved formulas, products, and/or processes;
- Assist the R&D team with resolving routine customer and production problems;
- Ability to safely utilize basic lab equipment and chemicals;
- Ability to efficiently and accurately work in a fast-paced environment;
- Ability to work independently while time-managing multiple projects.
Requirements:
- Ability to make and meet commitments/deadlines;
- 1 years+ experience in a related manufacturing environment preferred;
- Cosmetics Science background preferred;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong interpersonal & problem-solving skills and commitment to providing a high standard of quality work;
- Consideration will be given for color matching experience in color cosmetics in lieu of education;
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced team environment;
- 4 years Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from a recognized University or equivalent preferred;
- Self-starter, self-motivated with proactive, and process ownership focus.
