Install, configure, and support an organization’s local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet systems or a segment of a network system. Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users and may perform necessary maintenance to support network availability. May monitor and test Web site performance to ensure Web sites operate correctly and without interruption. May assist in network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software. May supervise computer user support specialists and computer network support specialists. May administer network security measures.

Our company is looking for a Systems Administrator to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure network connectivity throughout a company’s LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with technical considerations;
  • Liaison and collaboration with multiple internal and remote departments and teams;
  • Support with daily general office tasks such as data entry, filing, etc;
  • Make recommendations for future upgrades;
  • Perform network address assignment;
  • Monitoring of internal network systems;
  • Assign configuration of authentication and authorization of directory services;
  • Documentation of all internal site hardware/software/networking;
  • Workstation deployments / support – Windows, OSX;
  • other projects and duties as assigned;
  • Detect and respond to critical system/network events and incidents;
  • Collaborate closely with IT, Core-Pipe, IS, R&D, and Security teams globally;
  • Install network and server hardware / software;
  • Perform routine setup and troubleshoot network and systems issues, including servers and storage arrays;
  • Provide excellent customer service support, including clear verbal and written communications.

Requirements:

  • Experience with Barracuda Internet and the email-filtering appliance is a plus;
  • Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Information Technology or Computing Science or related field;
  • Strong network knowledge such as IP networking, LAN/WAN, VPN, firewalls, whitelisting, DNS, DHCP, etc;
  • Experience managing different cloud computing systems including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform;
  • College Diploma in Computer Sciences, IT, Computer Engineering;
  • Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude;
  • Project Management tools;
  • An effective listener: able to engage with and understand others to discover what their requirements are;
  • Detail oriented;
  • Passion for creating and supporting distributed scalable systems that are fault tolerant and reliable;
  • High levels of integrity, honesty, resourcefulness, and diplomacy, with a proven ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion;
  • Thorough understanding of networking principles and protocols;
  • Knowledge in remote management software such as Jamf Pro and InTune;
  • Cloud-native technology, tools and frameworks;
  • Administering and supporting a heterogeneous OS environment incl. Linux, Windows and Mac OS for both server and desktop.
