System Specialist Job Description

Analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate existing network systems, such as local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet systems or a segment of a network system. Perform network maintenance to ensure networks operate correctly with minimal interruption.

Our company is looking for a System Specialist to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Support of Systems Delivery processes and documentation;
  • Interaction with Construction Management and Delivery Leads;
  • Interaction with O&M/M&R Management and Support Leads;
  • Support of Requirements Management processes;
  • Development of Systems Engineering processes and documentation;
  • Support of construction and installation activities in the field;
  • Interaction with Design Management and Technical Leads;
  • Support of Systems Integration processes and documentation;
  • Support for Test & Commissioning and setting to work of mass transit, urban rail and heavy freight signalling and control systems;
  • Support for System Assurance/V&V teams in the delivery of mass transit, urban rail and heavy freight signalling and control systems.

Requirements:

  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively;
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience;
  • Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Proven expertise working with Sharepoint (support, configuration, and programming);
  • Good understanding of working in a controlled and validated environment;
  • Good organizational and prioritization skills;
  • Bilingual (English and French) with excellent oral and written skills;
  • Post-secondary education;
  • Good knowledge of MS SQL for query design;
  • Good knowledge of Sharepoint Designer;
  • Good knowledge of MS Reporting Services;
  • Ability to work in a team environment and establish good relationships with colleagues;
  • Ability to develop training material and conduct training sessions for end users;
  • Previous experience working in a CRO, pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, an asset.
