Jira Administrator Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Jira Administrator to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain detailed technical and user facing documentation;
- Expert level tool administration knowledge on Jira and proficiency in Atlassian tool suite;
- Excellent problem solving and process implementation skills;
- Experience installing and updating Jira plugins using Atlassian SDK is a plus;
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise with Jira Projects and workflows.Interact with existing vendors for support and troubleshooting;

- provide User Management and grant user permissions in accordance with company policies;
- create and manage custom, complex projects, workflows, security schemes, custom fields, dashboards and reports configurations;
- establish and execute data stewardship and best practices;
- create, maintain and support dashboards and advanced filters for end users reporting capabilities;
- create and manage complex Jira workflows, screen schemes, permission schemes, and notification schemes;
- conduct training for users on Jira regarding how to use the tools, new functionality, etc;
- troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise with Jira Projects and workflows;
- to understand administration of Jira applications.
Requirements:
- 1+ years’ experience in Java, JavaScript, and proficient scripting ability;
- Experience with Jira APIs and Tool Integration and Jira Configuration Manager;
- Ability to create custom scripts in Jira to automate workflows and extend base functionality;
- Knowledge of applications such as Tableau, SAP Business Objects, Confluence, Planview, and Saba preferred;
- Bachelor’s degree with 1+ years of experience in Jira administration;
- Jira server maintenance and service management experience;
- 1+ years of experience in Agile Scrum methodology a plus;
- Jira development experience a plus;
- Experience developing and deploying custom plugins for Jira;
- ITIL Certification and Jira Certification a plus.
