Senior Architectural Designer – Technical Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Senior Architectural Designer – Technical to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- May act as concept designer on smaller projects;
- Reviews information from reports and published documents; evaluates and analyzes the information to understand broad requirements of project;
- Attends meetings to coordinate drawings and resources, determine project criteria and provide information;
- Coordinate with contractor, sub-consultants or relevant building authorities to address and document issues with constructability or owner concerns;
- Manage the delivery of all projects, including leading project teams through all phases of the project;
- Acts as a single point of contact on project issues;
- Evaluates site conditions, including zoning requirements and site constraints; may meet with authorities having jurisdiction to establish requirements;
- Provide direction and leadership to members of the design team;
- Performs complex analyses, sampling or data collection, within discipline, for specific portions of broader projects;
- Sources all materials to be drawn and specified to ensure feasibility and to meet design intent and comply with industry standards;
- Process permit response letters and coordinate revisions with engineers and consultants, as required, to obtain necessary documentation and permits;
- Synthesize, interpret and coordinate technical information to write architectural and front-end specifications for Project Manuals;
- Represents the organization and interacts in a professional manner with clients, sub-consultants and contractor representatives;
- Prepare project change documentation as required;
- Provide insight, information and recommendations on sector and discipline trends and significant issues provided by members of the design team.
Requirements:
- Registration with a relevant professional architectural or technologist association is an asset;
- Possesses experience in project delivery, project management, and client management;
- Has excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills;
- Demonstrated proficiency in architectural software skills (i.e.AutoCAD, Revit);
- Have successfully completed related post-secondary education.
