Pattern Maker 2 Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Pattern Maker 2 to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- You effectively communicate with Designers, Sample Sewers, Product Developers, and Factory partners, building strong business relationships;
- You contribute to the creation and use of block pattern library;
- You support and report Integrated Product Team metrics for timeline, costs and product solutions that meet supply chain needs;
- You participate in organized training programs;
- You develop and maintain accurate finished garment measurement specifications;
- You maintain grading when modifying production patterns;
- You support with other projects as assigned;
- You assist in grading and marker making where required;
- You maintain accurate pattern lists and templates in The Arc’teryx System (TAS) spec;
- You report on prototype and sample progress to ensure development and production deadlines are met;
- You work with design to establish standard fit by product category and end use and ensure product size and fit consistency;
- You provide accurate raw material yields to Product Developers during prototype development;
- You troubleshoot problems and ensure regular maintenance of computer software and equipment;
- You maintain computer pattern libraries, ensuring changes are clearly communicated to Product Developers, Graders and Marker Makers.
Requirements:
- You have the ability to work from pattern blocks or from sketches;
- You have a knowledge of grading;
- You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration;
- Your passion for your work is paralleled by your passion for getting outside and living it;
- You have a post-secondary education in Design or a related apparel field;
- You have effective English oral and written communications skills;
- You have an excellent attention to detail, including accurate data entry skills;
- You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity;
- Required;
- You have strong interpersonal skills;
- You have a knowledge of Gerber Accumark and/or outerwear,
- You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement;
- You have 5+ years’ in production pattern making for an apparel retailer;
- You have an excellent knowledge of garment construction;
- Assets.
