Our company is looking for a Upholstery Technician to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Re-upholster panels, liners and sidewalls at a high level quality and structural safety;
  • Frequent need to give concentrated attention, with one or two senses at a time, where stimuli are changing;
  • Exposure to factors such as temperature variations, fumes, humidity and materials which can cause periods of discomfort;
  • Demonstrate the ability to work with high-grade leather materials from blueprints, drawings and other illustrations or written work instructions;
  • Fabricate, repair, modify, and refurbish aircraft seats, sofas, sidewalls and associated components;
  • Plan, prepare and cut materials to standardized patterns for stitching and fitting to customer and engineered requirements;
  • Occasional direct and indirect pressure to meet deadlines, production quotas, accuracy or similar demands.

Requirements:

  • Experience in an aviation-related field is preferable;
  • High school diploma and/or completion of College/CEGEP/technical training in a related field;
  • Extensive, practical industrial sewing and upholstery experience, ideally working with seating and leather material;
  • Seamstress / sewers must have the additional qualifications and skills to masterfully operate a leather stitching machine, piping or binding machine.
