Responsibilities:

  • Analyze blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine mold dimensions, tool selection, and machine setups.
  • Set up and operate various machine tools such as lathes, grinders, and milling machines, to fabricate parts and components for molds.
  • Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, height gauges, and dial indicators to verify dimensions and tolerances of finished molds.
  • Inspect and troubleshoot molds to identify and correct problems, such as misalignment, insufficient venting, and flashing.
  • Collaborate with designers, engineers, and production personnel to develop new molds and improve existing ones.

Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in mold making techniques, including but not limited to CNC machining, EDM, and manual machining
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Proficiency in using mold making equipment and tools, such as lathes, grinders, and milling machines
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain precision in all aspects of mold making
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software and other computer-based design programs
  • Knowledge of different materials used in mold making and their properties
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems related to mold making
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, as mold making often involves collaboration with other departments and team members.
