DevOps Consultant - Red Hat OpenShift

Position Description
CGI is seeking an experienced DevOps Consultant to join our growing Cloud Engineering team. In this role, you will support the modernization of enterprise cloud infrastructure by designing, implementing, and supporting cloud-native platforms and CI/CD solutions. You will work closely with engineering, infrastructure, and application teams to deploy, manage, and optimize containerized workloads running on Kubernetes and Azure Red Hat OpenShift (ARO).

This opportunity is ideal for a DevOps professional with strong hands-on experience in Kubernetes, OpenShift, Azure cloud services, and CI/CD automation who enjoys solving infrastructure challenges and supporting large-scale cloud transformation initiatives.

This is a full-time permanent opportunity based in one of CGI's Atlantic Canada offices, including Halifax, NS; Moncton or Fredericton, NB; St. John's, NL; or Stratford, PEI. Candidates must be currently located in Atlantic Canada or willing to relocate. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring three days per week onsite.

Your future duties and responsibilities
• Support and maintain Kubernetes and Azure Red Hat OpenShift (ARO) environments across development, test, and production.
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting cloud-native applications.
• Deploy, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot containerized applications running on Kubernetes and OpenShift.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates and deployment automation.
• Support cloud infrastructure hosted in Microsoft Azure and contribute to platform modernization initiatives.
• Troubleshoot application, infrastructure, deployment, and container platform issues while performing root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, security teams, and infrastructure teams to deliver secure, scalable cloud solutions.
• Participate in production deployments, operational support, release activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop technical documentation, operational procedures, and deployment standards.
• Share knowledge and mentor junior team members on DevOps and cloud engineering best practices.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5–7 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or related roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift, including Azure Red Hat OpenShift (ARO).
• Experience supporting migrations from on-premises OpenShift environments to Azure Red Hat OpenShift.
• Experience designing, implementing, and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience supporting cloud-native applications and containerized workloads.
• Experience working with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and deployment automation.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.

Assets
The following qualifications would be considered assets:
• Experience with Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, or Ansible.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD platforms.
• Experience with Docker and container image management.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor, or Dynatrace.
• Experience working within financial services or other highly regulated industries.
• Azure or Red Hat certifications.

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $65,000–$110,000 CAD. This role is an existing vacancy.
