What You'll Be Doing
· Lead and grow a high-performing AI Engineering team through hiring, coaching, mentoring, and capability development.
· Define technical direction, engineering standards, and delivery practices for AI-enabled applications and platforms.
· Design, build, and support secure, cloud-native AI and machine learning solutions in production environments.
· Partner with business stakeholders to identify AI adoption opportunities, define roadmaps, and prioritize initiatives with measurable business outcomes.
· Lead the development of document intelligence solutions, including document classification, information extraction, workflow automation, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
· Establish governance processes for AI model evaluation, monitoring, responsible AI practices, and production risk management.
· Oversee the delivery of AI, machine learning, NLP, agent-based, and cloud-native solutions while ensuring scalability, security, and production readiness.
· Drive engineering excellence through quality standards, observability, automated testing, data quality controls, and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Lead sprint planning, capacity management, risk mitigation, and delivery commitments across the team.
· Collaborate closely with data scientists, data engineers, architects, security teams, and business stakeholders to deliver enterprise AI solutions.
· Evaluate emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and platforms, ensuring adoption aligns with organizational standards and governance requirements.
· Lead incident management, post-mortems, operational readiness, and platform resiliency initiatives.
What You'll Need to Succeed
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline.
· 8+ years of software engineering experience with strong Python development and cloud delivery experience.
· Prior experience leading engineering teams delivering AI, machine learning, NLP, intelligent document processing, or cloud-native solutions.
· Strong public cloud experience, preferably AWS, with hands-on exposure to AI-enabled application development.
· Experience with foundation model platforms such as Amazon Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic APIs, or similar technologies.
· Strong understanding of AI solution architecture, machine learning lifecycle management, DevOps, observability, security, and software quality practices.
· Experience with AI and machine learning frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, or similar tools.
· Knowledge of relational, NoSQL, and vector database technologies.
· Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), document intelligence, natural language processing, fine-tuning, and AI governance practices.
· Proven ability to lead Agile teams, manage priorities, mentor engineers, and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.
· Experience implementing AI testing strategies, model evaluation frameworks, prompt validation, monitoring, regression controls, and drift detection.
· Experience working in financial services or other regulated industries is highly desirable.
· Strong track record of hiring, coaching, developing, and retaining engineering talent.
