Solution Architect – Digital Banking Applications

Position Description
We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to contribute to the design, evolution, and optimization of our Digital Banking Applications.

Working closely with a Senior Solution Architect and architecture leadership, you will collaborate with product, delivery, platform, and technical teams to develop scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards.

This opportunity is well suited to someone who combines hands-on technical expertise with architectural thinking and is comfortable working across complex, multi-tenant, and regulated technology environments.

Location: Canada, Remote with onsite presence as required

Your future duties and responsibilities
• Contribute to the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable and secure digital banking solutions under the guidance of senior architecture leadership.
• Collaborate with business, product, delivery, platform, and technical stakeholders to analyze requirements and translate them into solution designs and technical specifications.
• Provide architectural guidance, participate in design and code reviews, and promote engineering best practices.
• Support the adoption and implementation of cloud-native and distributed application patterns.
• Contribute to improvements in system performance, scalability, resilience, maintainability, and observability.
• Ensure solutions align with applicable security, risk, and compliance requirements, including SOC 2, ISO 27001, and PCI DSS considerations.
• Contribute to DevOps, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives across environments.
• Apply cost-awareness and optimization principles related to cloud sizing, scaling, and observability.
• Own defined solution components while collaborating with the Senior Solution Architect and broader architecture practice.
• Support knowledge sharing and the continued development of technical team members.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 7-10 years of experience across software engineering and solution architecture roles.
• Strong knowledge of .NET application development, SQL Server, and data-layer architecture.
• Experience with containerization, runtime platforms, distributed application design, middleware, and integration.
• Practical experience with Microsoft Azure services and cloud-native architecture.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or Bicep.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, build automation, and deployment workflows.
• Strong awareness of secure design and development practices, including SAST, DAST, and system hardening.
• Experience working in regulated environments with security and compliance obligations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Assets

• Experience in digital banking, financial services, payment systems, or regulated enterprise platforms.
• Exposure to GitOps practices and tools such as Argo CD or Flux CD.
• Understanding of mobile application architectures for iOS and Android.
• Knowledge of mobile performance considerations, including caching, network efficiency, and backend optimization.
• Experience working within a multi-architect or enterprise architecture team.
• Experience supporting and developing technical team members within a collaborative architecture practice.
