Join BBA and make the most of your experience by actively contributing to the various stages of Electrical discipline. We are currently seeking an Electrical Engineering Technologist to join our Studies & Field Testing team to support our expansion in Ontario.

This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic growing team in our Concord office. Your role will be to participate in the day-to-day delivery of engineering services, from performing engineering studies to performing electrical testing on site. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality professional services and maintaining good working relationships with clients and co-workers.

• Conduct high voltage and grounding test in field and laboratory environments
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment as necessary
• Perform various grounding tests for fall of potential, soil resistivity and connectivity
• Prepare test plan and test report
• Evaluate equipment condition based on test results
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment as necessary
• Perform electrical design, modelling and analysis using AutoCAD, CDEGS and other applicable software
• Develop engineering drawings and bill of materials
• Apply established work methods and ensure their improvement
• Define safety procedures and criteria

Summary of certification and job requirements

• A 3-year technologist degree in electrical engineering technology or equivalent
• Proficient in drafting
• 1+ years of experience in electrical design / power equipment testing
• Have experience with design of substations or power plants
• Knowledge of distribution and transmission power systems
• Strong willingness to learn hands-on work for electrical testing on site
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
• Strong team work ethic and able to work independently when required
• Fast learner and creative problem-solver, adaptable to changing needs, timelines, and processes
• Willingness to travel outside the province for extended period
• Willingness to work in laboratory and field environment
• Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel), and Acrobat Reader
• Valid G driver's license or equivalent

• Annual base salary from $60,000 to $95,000
