Senior Product Manager, Mobile Experience

The Role

We are looking for a strategic, technically strong, and client‑focused product leader to join our Scotia Digital team as a Senior Digital Product Manager, Mobile Platform & Experience. In this role, you will lead the evolution of our mobile and authenticated digital platform capabilities across iOS, Android, and web ecosystems.

The successful candidate will help shape the long‑term platform roadmap, drive modernization initiatives, and partner closely with engineering, design, analytics, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, performant, and reusable digital experiences.

You will play a critical role in defining how the mobile banking experience evolves through platform modernization, native and micro‑app enablement, performance optimisation, reusable frameworks, and emerging industry capabilities.

The ideal candidate combines strong product ownership capabilities with deep technical fluency across mobile and web technologies, modern architecture patterns, and digital platform strategy.

• Define and evolve the strategic roadmap for mobile and digital platform capabilities across iOS, Android, and web applications.
• Drive platform modernization initiatives focused on scalability, performance, resiliency, reusability, and maintainability.
• Identify and evaluate industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive experiences to inform future‑state platform evolution.
• Champion mobile‑first and client‑centric experiences while balancing technical feasibility, operational excellence, and speed to market.
• Develop strategic narratives, business cases, roadmap artifacts, and executive‑ready materials that clearly articulate value, outcomes, dependencies, and investment priorities.
• Own and prioritise platform backlogs, translating strategic direction into epics, features, and actionable user stories.
• Lead discovery and solutioning activities with engineering and design teams to define scalable technical approaches and delivery plans.
• Partner closely with development teams across native mobile, web, and micro‑app ecosystems to ensure alignment on delivery priorities and technical direction.
• Guide initiatives spanning native iOS and Android applications, React‑based experiences, Node.js services, APIs, and micro‑app architectures.
• Ensure capabilities are delivered with strong consideration for performance, reliability, accessibility, security, analytics, and operational scalability.
• Support delivery planning, release management, dependency management, and incremental value realisation across multiple concurrent initiatives.
• Facilitate prioritisation discussions across competing business and technical demands.
• Drive initiatives focused on mobile platform health, modernisation, UI framework evolution, and experience consistency across channels.
• Help define reusable platform capabilities, design patterns, component strategies, and governance approaches that accelerate delivery across teams.
• Partner with engineering teams to improve app performance, stability, and technical health metrics.
• Contribute to the evolution of native and hybrid mobile/web strategies, including micro‑app enablement and modular architecture approaches.
• Advocate for simplification, scalability, and long‑term platform sustainability in product and technology decision‑making.
• Partner with Design, Business Lines, Engineering, Marketing, and Analytics teams to align deliverables to strategic priorities.
• Influence and align senior stakeholders on strategic direction, sequencing, and implementation approaches.
• Communicate roadmap progress, delivery outcomes, technical trade‑offs, risks, and dependencies clearly to leadership audiences.
• Facilitate collaboration across cross‑functional agile teams to drive execution excellence and continuous improvement.
• Mentor and guide team members through strong product management practices, strategic thinking, and client‑centric decision‑making.
• Prepare materials for senior leadership forums, business reviews, and strategic planning cycles.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

Technical & Product Expertise

• 5+ years experience working within digital product management, technical product ownership, or platform product management roles focused on mobile apps.
• Deep understanding of mobile application ecosystems, including native iOS and Android platforms.
• Experience working with modern web and mobile technologies including React, Node.js, APIs, and micro‑app architectures.
• Strong understanding of platform modernisation, scalable architecture patterns, performance optimisation, and reusable component strategies.
• Expert‑level understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies is considered a significant asset.
• Deep knowledge of authenticated digital experiences, enterprise‑scale applications, and high‑availability platforms.
• Experience defining KPIs, OKRs, and success metrics tied to platform health, delivery efficiency, and client experience outcomes.

Leadership & Strategic Thinking

• Strong strategic thinking, prioritisation, and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Proven ability to influence cross‑functional teams and senior stakeholders in complex organisations.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.
• Ability to operate effectively within ambiguity and drive alignment across competing priorities.
• Passion for digital innovation, emerging technology trends, and continuous improvement.
• Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives from concept through execution and value realisation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within financial services, fintech, or other highly regulated digital environments.
• Familiarity with mobile analytics, experimentation, observability, and performance monitoring frameworks.
• Experience supporting platform governance, modernisation programmes, or enterprise transformation initiatives.
