Bilingual Casper Test Support Agent (On-Demand Contract Work Remote in Canada)

Every year, thousands of people complete Casper as part of applying to programs in medicine, nursing, and other professions.

Casper helps universities and colleges learn more about applicants beyond their grades. It looks at human skills that matter in these professions, like empathy, communication, ethical judgment, and problem-solving.

For applicants, completing Casper can be an important step toward the education and career they’re working toward. While a test is happening, our Test Support Agents are behind the scenes making sure things run smoothly and helping applicants when they run into problems.

That’s where you’ll come in.

We’re looking for English/French bilingual contractors across Canada to join our community of Test Support Agents for flexible, part-time work.

As a Test Support Agent, you’ll support applicants in real time while they complete their Casper test. You’ll answer questions, help solve technical problems, reassure applicants who may be anxious or frustrated, and help them get back on track when something goes wrong.

You’ll also help make sure tests are completed fairly and according to the rules. This includes monitoring live tests, connecting with applicants when something needs to be addressed, and flagging anything that needs a closer look.

Outside of live tests, some of your hours may include answering applicant questions, reviewing ID submissions, or reviewing test recordings when the team needs to look more closely at something that happened.

This is flexible, remote work that can fit alongside school, another job, or other commitments. You’ll have a minimum of four paid hours each week, with much of our live test support happening during evenings and weekends.

You don’t need previous experience with Casper or assessment work. We’ll teach you what you need to know through paid training and give you opportunities to shadow experienced Test Support Agents before supporting tests on your own.

What matters most is that you communicate clearly, stay calm when someone needs help, notice the details, make thoughtful decisions, and genuinely enjoy helping people.

You’ll support applicants in both English and French, so you’ll need professional fluency in both languages, written and spoken. English is the main language we use at Acuity, while your French will help us provide the same level of support to French-speaking applicants.

What You’ll Do

Help applicants during live Casper tests

You’ll be there while applicants are taking their test, helping them when they have questions or something goes wrong.

You’ll:

• Answer applicant questions and provide clear guidance in English and French.
• Help troubleshoot common technical issues with things like internet connections, browsers, or accessing the test.
• Support applicants who may be confused, anxious, frustrated, or upset, helping them understand what to do next.
• Monitor live tests to make sure test rules are being followed.
• Connect with applicants when an issue needs to be addressed and flag anything the team needs to look into further.

Help outside live tests

Some of your hours may also include:

• Answering applicant questions and helping solve issues outside scheduled tests.
• Reviewing applicant ID submissions.
• Reviewing test recordings when something that happened during a test needs a closer look.
• Sharing feedback when you notice a recurring problem or a way we could make the experience better for applicants.

What Will Help You Thrive as a Test Support Agent

There’s no single background that prepares you for this work. You might have experience in customer service, student support, live chat, technical support, or another role where you’ve helped people. You may also be earlier in your career and have built these skills through school, volunteering, or other experiences.

What matters most is how you approach the work. You’ll likely thrive as a Test Support Agent if you:

Communicate clearly and with empathy. You can explain things simply, listen to understand what someone needs, and adjust how you communicate depending on the situation.

Stay calm when things get stressful. When someone is anxious, frustrated, or upset, you can reassure them while continuing to think clearly about what to do next.

Think things through. You can understand what’s happening, work through a problem, and recognize when you need to ask for help or bring someone else in.

Notice the details. You pay attention, spot when something doesn’t look quite right, and take the time to understand why.

Follow through on your commitments. If you say you’ll be there for a test session, your teammates and the applicants you’re supporting can count on you.

Like helping people. You get satisfaction from solving problems, making things easier for someone else, and contributing to a team that welcomes questions, feedback, and ideas.

The Practical Details

• This is a casual independent contractor opportunity.
• You’ll earn $25 CAD/hour, with a minimum of 4 paid hours each week.
• You can work remotely from anywhere in Canada.
• Live test support mostly happens during evenings and weekends in Eastern Time, with occasional early-morning sessions.
• Your hours will include live test sessions and may include other Applicant Support work outside test times.
• You’ll submit an invoice for the hours you work every two weeks, and Acuity will pay you twice per month.
• Because you’ll be an independent contractor, Acuity won’t deduct taxes from your pay. You’ll be responsible for reporting this income and paying any taxes you owe.

To join our TSA community, you’ll need:

• To live in Canada and be legally able to work in Canada.
• Strong English and French skills, both written and spoken.
• A reliable computer and internet connection.
• A smartphone for two-factor authentication.
• Availability to support our live test schedule.
• No plans to apply in the near future to a school or program that requires Casper.

Training & Getting Started

You won’t be expected to know how to support a Casper test on day one. We’ll teach you.

Your paid training will include:

• A live onboarding session with the team.
• Online training modules you can complete remotely.
• Two to three live test sessions where you’ll shadow experienced Test Support Agents before supporting tests on your own.

You’ll learn how Casper works, the tools and processes you’ll use, common problems applicants may run into, and how to handle different situations during a live test.

All required training and shadowing time is paid.

Steps to Join Our TSA Community

Apply. Complete a short application and tell us a little about yourself, your English and French skills, your availability, and what interests you about the opportunity.

Complete a bilingual mini-Casper. If you move forward, we’ll invite you to complete a shorter bilingual version of Casper. This helps us learn more about how you think and approach situations similar to those you may encounter in this work.

Meet someone from Applicant Support. You’ll have a short video conversation with a member of our team. We’ll get to know you, and you’ll have plenty of time to ask questions about the role and what it’s like to be a TSA.

Join our TSA community. If it’s a match, we’ll send you an independent contractor agreement and get you started with paid training and test shadowing.
