Key Account Manager – Overview
As a Key Account Manager (KAM), you will own the end‑to‑end commercial relationship for a portfolio of accounts, acting as the single point of contact and “CEO” of the customer partnership. You will drive profitable and sustainable growth by ensuring a consistent, customer‑centric experience across all services and business units. Key Responsibilities Serve as primary commercial contact for assigned accounts, strengthening trust, retention, and long‑term partnerships. Develop deep understanding of the customer’s business model, strategy, decision‑making processes and competitive environment. Lead regular business reviews to drive alignment, innovation and continuous improvement. Identify, qualify and develop opportunities across all products and services to meet pipeline, win‑ratio and growth targets. Ensure business retention through proactive issue resolution and clear articulation of value. Lead negotiations (e.g., tenders, contracts) with functional units to secure profitable outcomes. Develop and execute integrated account growth plans across transport modes. Translate customer insights into prioritized, actionable initiatives with clear internal alignment. Maintain expert‑level knowledge of relevant solutions for the customer portfolio. Monitor volumes, pipeline, forecasts and KPIs (e.g., profitability, DSO, AR) and take corrective action as needed. Ensure timely, accurate and compliant CoreLOG updates with high data quality. This role includes participation in the Sales Incentive Plan (SIP), offering the opportunity for uncapped variable compensation in addition to the base salary. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, International Studies or related field. Strong consultative selling and business development track record (up‑and cross‑selling). Broad supply chain and logistics knowledge (Air, Sea, Road, CL, IL). Proven ability to manage complex internal and external stakeholders. Competitive, results‑driven mindset with strong negotiation skills. Benefits
The target base salary range for this position is between $110,000 and $140,000 CAD. Salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and dental benefits, a retirement savings plan and tuition reimbursement.
