Our client, Owens MacFadyen Group, a boutique Wealth Management firm is looking for a Manager of Tax and Estates to join their team in Toronto. Reporting to the Director of Tax & Estate Planning, this role is ideal for a highly detailed, organized professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about financial services. You will play a key role in supporting advisors, analyzing complex financial scenarios and delivering insights that drive client success.
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain advanced Excel tools for tax and financial analysis.
- Prepare and deliver presentations for advisors and clients.
- Conduct insurance analysis, including current yields and estate impact.
- Review and train junior analysts; ensure accuracy and quality of work.
- Lead weekly calls and training sessions for advisors.
- Summarize shareholder agreements and assist with special client requests.
- Participate in client meetings, capture key details, and ensure timely follow-up.
Your Requirements:
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge in key areas: Personal & Corporate Taxation, Insurance Taxation, Trust Taxation, Wills & Family Trusts, Family Trust
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in financial services, business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Professional designations (CFA, CPA, CFP, CIM, CLU) or progress toward them is highly valued.
- Several years of experience in financial services or client service roles.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft applications.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly, manage time effectively, and work independently.
