The Role

• Provide high-quality medical care for routine and urgent appointments
• Oversee surgical and medical cases handled by veterinarians to support excellent outcomes and clear client communication
• Review, refine, and implement clinical protocols aligned with current standards and regulatory requirements
• Partner with practice management to guide the veterinary team, elevate client experience, and uphold clinical excellence
• Foster a strong culture of teamwork, constructive feedback, and continuous improvement
• Monitor key operational and financial indicators to identify opportunities and celebrate wins across the team
• Lead recruitment efforts for veterinarians and students; engage with externships, referrals, and career events
• Coach and mentor DVM students and early-career veterinarians, providing structured teaching and feedback
• Adapt effectively to urgent cases and support smooth triage and care transitions

Requirements

• DVM or equivalent degree
• Licensed or eligible for licensure with the College of Veterinarians of Ontario
• Eligible to work in Canada
• Proven experience as a lead veterinarian with demonstrated medical leadership
• Strong capability in updating and standardizing medical protocols
• Outstanding interpersonal skills with clients, colleagues, and the community
• Confident managing urgent cases and guiding teams through change
