Job Responsibility:
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic finance tutor to join our team on a part-time basis. We need someone who can commit to teaching daily (2-4 hours per day) for the entirety of July, minimum. Ideally, the candidate should be available for two months (July and August). As a finance tutor, you will be responsible for providing personalized instruction to individuals or small groups of students, helping them learn and master financial concepts and market simulations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop customized lesson plans and teaching materials based on students' needs and skill levels, covering topics such as Securities Trading, Economics, and Accounting.
- Deliver engaging and interactive tutoring sessions either in person or online.
- Provide guidance and support to students as they prepare for the Simulated Market Challenge at the University of Toronto and the Financial Literacy Competition at the University of Waterloo.
- Assess students' progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly to ensure comprehension and retention of concepts.
- Offer additional resources and practice exercises to reinforce learning.
- Communicate effectively with students and their parents or guardians regarding progress, goals, and areas for improvement.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in financial concepts, securities trading, economics, and accounting.
- Strong understanding of market simulation and financial literacy principles.
- Prior tutoring or teaching experience preferred, but not required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching style to accommodate different learning preferences and abilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Education, or a related field preferred.
