Pharmacy Assistant

Cencora seeks a Pharmacy Assistant to support specialty pharmacy operations in Ottawa. The role involves managing prescription intake, benefit verification, prior authorization coordination, and claims processing while maintaining compliance with established procedures.

Responsibilities

Coordinate documentation and handoffs for prior authorization and clinical review requests
Review claims, orders, and inventory data to identify and resolve discrepancies
Track backorders, substitutions, and product availability to maintain pharmacy operations
Document workflow activity and issue resolution to ensure compliance and traceability
Communicate operational status and missing information to pharmacists, technicians, and payers

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent
2+ years pharmacy support, healthcare operations, or claims processing experience
Pharmacy technician certification or equivalent preferred
Ability to track and document workflow activity accurately
Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
