Finance Assistant (bilingual)

Job Responsibility:

OMS Montessori is seeking a Finance Assistant to join our talented team and contribute to our continued success. We are a leading non-profit Montessori school, with an enrollment of over 300 students from Toddler through Grade 12. Celebrating our 58th year of education in Ottawa, OMS Montessori is located in the heart of a residential neighborhood.

Position Overview: As a Finance Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Finance Officer with various tasks and responsibilities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a passion for numbers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the preparation and maintenance of financial records, including invoices, receipts, and expense reports.
• Process and reconcile accounts payable and receivable transactions.
• Support the preparation of financial reports and statements.
• Perform data entry and ensure accuracy in financial documentation.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Maintain and update financial databases and spreadsheets.
• Knowledge of payroll processes
• Support audits and compliance activities as needed.
• Administrative duties

Qualifications:

• Diploma in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. (preferred).
• At least three years of proven experience in a finance or accounting role.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Sage 300) is an advantage.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Written and oral fluency in both official languages is imperative.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $40,930.00-$65,869.00 per year
