Director Client Onboarding - Capital Markets Operations

A career as a Director, Client Onboarding in the Capital Markets Operations team at National Bank means acting as a strategic leader responsible for client onboarding operations and regulatory due diligence activities. In this role, you will have a positive impact on our organization through your expertise in capital markets operations, regulatory compliance, team leadership, and operational transformation.

You will lead a team dedicated to onboarding institutional Capital Markets clients and conducting periodic reviews while ensuring operational excellence, strong governance, and compliance with regulatory and internal requirements. Your leadership will help strengthen controls, improve efficiency, and support the evolution of operational practices across the business.

• Lead a team of approximately 15 professionals responsible for due diligence reviews, account opening activities, and periodic client reviews for institutional Capital Markets clients.

• Develop team members through coaching, mentorship, and performance support while identifying opportunities for growth and skill development.

• Ensure the quality, accuracy, and timely execution of operational activities by collaborating closely with stakeholders throughout the client lifecycle.

• Drive operational transformation initiatives by simplifying, automating, and continuously improving processes, controls, and governance practices.

• Establish and monitor key performance indicators, operational controls, and reporting mechanisms to support a dynamic and high-volume environment.

• Represent your sector in strategic initiatives and cross-functional projects while building strong relationships with internal partners and influencing organizational outcomes.

• Hold a bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field and have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of people management experience.

• Demonstrate strong experience leading teams and managing relationships with multiple stakeholders in a complex environment.

• Possess in-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements applicable to financial institutions and client onboarding activities.

• Demonstrate strong knowledge of Capital Markets operations, processes, products, and ecosystem.

• Have experience leading operational improvement, transformation, automation, or process optimization initiatives.

• Demonstrate the ability to influence stakeholders and successfully deliver strategic initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
